Guy Smith was born into the motor racing fraternity as his father had been racing since the 1960’s.  Aged 16, he built his first car, a Ford Anglia, which started off his passion for early 60’s Fords and Lotus’s.

Guy started his mechanical apprenticeship upon leaving school, his background and speciality being Lotus and Caterhams.

In 1995 he established Guy Smith Motorsport Ltd.

As well as being a keen constructor, Guy is also an experienced new and used parts dealer with a relentless obsession for finding rare and wonderful parts for early Lotus and Fords.  Over the years, as well as offering specialist competition and road parts, rarer parts such as FPF cylinder heads, Vegantune race engines, still in original box Aquaplane heads and new old stock Lotus Cortina wheels have also been sold.

If a specific item is not in stock in his vast array of parts, Guy can usually source it from the many contacts he has built over the years.

Guy’s specialist knowledge of parts, their application and his mechanical experience is the reason why collectors and clients from all over the world use Guy Smith Motorsport Ltd for their specialist needs.  Throughout his career Guy has been regularly quoted and printed in industry magazines and specialist car journals.
